Railway Budget 2015: What Suresh Prabhu presented for all

New Delhi, Feb 26: Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Thursday, Feb 26 presented his first maiden railway budget which received mixed response from the Opposition and the aam aadmi (common man).

Prabhu did not encounter any major disruption from opposition during his speech. However, many expressed disappointment as Prabhu did not announce any new trains.
Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar criticised the budget and said, "it was full of lofty ideas but without any action plan."

"Its like there is a train coach but no passenger," told Nitish who had served as Railway minister during NDA regime of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Despite criticism, Prabhu's railway budget 2015 has been hailed by many as it has impressed many people with a few surprises and many more expected changes in the system.

There was no announcement on hike of passenger fares.

Train tickets can be booked 120 days in advance instead of 60 days to tackle tout menace.
